  i used valve guide knurl once.  it looked like a "roll form tap"
  
   ......also, would someone please tell me where to buy a knurling tool at
a non stratospheric price. i need a 7mm in case anyone has one to sell.

Would someone please describe the business end of a valve guide knurling
tool to me ?  I assume it's basically a "thread-flowing" tap ?  But how much
bigger than the guide ?
Anyone ever make one by heating a Grade 8 bolt, smashing it somewhat with a
BFH, then hardening and tempering it ?
