Thanks for the replies folks. Unfortunately, natural gas is not available
where I am, otherwise I would pursue this option. I am well aware of the
mess and work involved with wood heat, but it is really the best alternative
for my situation. I'll take a look for a used freestanding wood stove and
exhaust it straight up through the roof.
