Like many have mentioned there is a Time frame when all of this applies...
the EPA decided ( through Court cases I'm sure) that they can not hold folks
respondsible for damage done prior to the current regulations being
enacted....
I tried to buy an Old Gas Station once and went through the drill of dealing
with the tanks... it wasn't very bad on the end of the day... they simply
dig out around them and then fill the hole with water and float them
out..... As for soil damage.... maybe this one was the only one with a
leak....?
Like several on this list.... if no one knew about it.... I'd continue on
and NOT notify a soul.... Burn the evidence and call it a day....( so much
for my integrity )
