I have experience with both Porter Cable and Stanley/Bostich. Both are
excellent, next gun will probably be the Mag Porter Cable, these things get
heavy after a while. Make sure you get a gun that shoot "full-head" nails, not
"clipped-head" nails. The clipped head nails have MUCH less holding power.

My only other suggestion is to set the gun up for single fire, not fire on
impact. Without a bunch of experience, you will (also) end up with a far amount
of double shots from the bounce. (Most pros have their nail gun set to shoot
when they just touch a surface. They hold the trigger in and "bounce-nail".
Unless you use the gun regularly, you will not be able to work reliably this
way.)

I'm looking to buy an air powered nail gun capable of shooting 2" to 3-1/2"
nails for framing a house. Does anyone have any experience with particular
brands, pros & cons?...
