The manufacturer of the oven has said almost the same thing...but they
said wait 2 days then fire a very low fire for 5 days prior to the first
real "cooking" fire. Basically a handful of kindling thrown in a few times
a day, no firewood for 5 days. The oven I am building is a rather large
clay/concrete thing that just sits inside all those blocks I have to put
together, never done this kind of stuff but I have all week to do
it. Yesterday was my first mixing of concrete, tomorrow my first mortar.
