I believe so, yes.  I'd suggest using SS safety wire as a clamp.  Take two turns
around the hose, then twist the ends together as usual.  The more you twist the
tighter it gets ... careful you don't cut the hose !  When it's tight enough,
you can trim the ends and bend the pigtail down flat.
