Bill, sounds like a perfect application for X10 control.  I know some of the
lights with the built in sensors also have built in X10 transmitters.  You
can check it out at http://www.worthdist.com/ or smarthome.com too.
I've been controlling quite a bit for over 10 yrs using X10.  It's not
perfect, but then it's not too expensive and pretty straightforward to
troubleshoot.
