As long as the unit has interior access in the right place, exterior access in 
the right place, and is tilted so the water runs outside, I don't see the 
problem.

They did this at a small machine shop I used to run at a company that made 
excavation buckets.  They just sawcut a hole in the concrete-block wall, lined 
it with sheetmetal, and stuffed the window unit in.
