As promised, I have measured the distance from the bottom of the wheel arch
to the top of the wheel rim on my Spitfire (unladen). It has a one-year-old
swing spring (2000 miles).   Results:

Passenger side: 5 1/2 inches
Driver side:    5 7/16 inches

As you can see, my spring is settling already.   :(     I blame it on too
much holiday food!   <wink>
