Chris in my homestate of Ohio I know the law just requires that any item
protruding more than 4 feet past the bumper must be marked and flagged.  I
do not invision any troubles,  You might want to have it rest on your
tailgate with it in the up position so some moronic driver doesn't rear end
you/it because of inattintiveness. Hope I helped.
