Dave,
If it weren't for the headrest, My head would do the same thing.  I am
only about 5'10" but my legs are really short.  I sit taller in the
saddle than many people your size!

However, I have not padded my (chrome) rollbar, for obvious reasons.  I
just keep the headrest at the proper height and try to avoid being hit.
