Over here in the UK, one of the major parts suppliers does not supply
the smaller 15 inch radiators due to 'inherent design faults'. They
also market a new twin core 21 inch (full width) radiator (RKC2117)
that is meant to help improve cooling.
It has the wrinkled, accordian style fold in the fins. I have not seen
any reconditioners over here use the other constuction of radiator
fins for Spitfires, but then I suppose we do not get the weather for it!
I suppose a lot of it depends upon the condition of the cooling
system. If the block is full of silt and rust then it will always
overheat due to poor flow no matter what radiator is on the car.
