Fellow listers, What is the maximum compression ratio that is compatible with the current gasoline available in California ? The pumps state octane ratings of 87, 89, & 91. I am rebuilding a '72, 1300cc MKIV Spit and would like to go to 8.5 or even 9.0 to 1 if feasible. Things were so much easier back in time, just pull up to the Sunoco station and fill 'er up with 260 !! TIA, Ken C |
