No, it was not an option on later years at least. My '79 came with one
"right off the boat".

I believe this was part of an "option" package for the Spitfire, I have one
on my ' 75.
I seem to remember seeing the light and some other "goodies" described in an
old Spitfire advertisement. Maybe someone could verify this (an original
owner?)
