Not only that, but if you look at the raw statistics instead of the
biased reports put out by the government you find that when the speed
limit was reduced to 55 the number of fatalities continued to climb
at the same rate it had been increasing all along.  It is not raw
speed that is the problem, it is changes of speed and vector that cause
accidents.
