Hi Pat
The whine, if she don't like the car leave her at home! The whine is
possibly like mine caused by the crown wheel and pinion teeth being
"spooned, nothing to worry about providing the rest of the diff is good" to
quote my MVT Teacher, I had completely rebuilt my diff and was short on
ideas so I went to see him and took him out in the car and that was his
diagnosis. That was good enough for me, it still whines exactly the same now
as it did 2 years ago!

Ps this car (2000 MKI) has been round Europe on holiday since then.
