My understanding is the block is going to need line boring and sleeves
inserted for a retro cam.

Subject: Cam bearings for 1500

Listers,

I am now well into the rebuild of a 1500 for my brothers MG Midget and since
the block will be hot-tanked I need to do something about the cam bearings.
Does anyone out there know of a source for cam bearings for a 1500 engine?
I've heard that the stock 1500 cam can be replaced with an early 1300 cam
and
bearings, but I would rather not do that. Any and all help would be
appreciated.

Thanks,
