Vince DePalma's Spit Race car has chrome A-Arms, but they are not stock ones.  
Chroming will weaken the metal somewhat, so is probably
not a good idea unless it is reinforced.  I don't know how much 
over-engineering Triumph did on those things, but for my money, I
wouldn't push it.
