Hi,

Today is a very happy and slightly sad day at my house. After 18 mos.
of trying my wife passed the 3 month point in her pregnancy and it looks
like we're on the way to parenthood. I am very happy about that, but I
guess that it's time to start being a grownup. The first thing that has
to go is the toy car. I had planned on selling it this spring when the
market would be better but I thought I'd better get a jump on things and
sell it now if possible. So here's the deal:

1979 Spitfire (manufactured in may of '78) chrome bumpers
Current inspection , driven 75+ miles 2- 3 times a week. Very reliable,
Clear Title

The following is new or rebuilt, and I have or can obtain most of the
receipts:

Tires 175-70-13 (<15K miles)
Wheels (minilite copies from Moss, about 2K miles)
Rebuilt trunnions
New springs front and rear (uprated front)
All rubber bushings replaced with urethane
KYB gas shocks on all 4 corners
Rebuilt Diff.
All new U-joints
New clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and bushing
All new brakes, rebuilt cylinders and calipers (no leaks at all)
Stainless brake lines
new interior, new door panels, new seat covers and foams, new cockpit
panel
plastic trans. tunnel
new molded carpet kit
rebuilt engine; new bearings, rings, cam, timing chain, bronze valve
guides , springs, oil pump, ARP rod bolts and head nuts
pertronix ignitor
Jacob's 40 KV coil and plug wires
Alloy valve cover
alloy rocker spacers
external oil feed line
ALL EMISSIONS CONTROLS PRESENT AND IN WORKING ORDER
rebuilt alternator
new fan clutch
rebuilt carb
Falcon stainless exhaust system
rebuilt clutch and slave master cyls.
new clutch slave cyl.
NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AT ALL
Hardtop
Paint less than two years old (good to very good but some blemishes)

The engine is a rebuilt high compression '76 model, the car comes with
the original '79 engine and the original diff.
It also comes with a set of original wheels with 4 yokohama spec racer
autocross tires and a box of miscellaneous parts.

Here is what the car needs, to be original the car needs a new
dashboard, the currently installed dash is covered in black leather, and
looks good, but is not original. The top doesn't leak, but the windows
are turning brown. The drive shaft clunks occasionally maybe the rubber
piece in front is wearing out, a spare drive shaft comes with the car.
One of the rear wheel bearings hums a little on coasting, I think that
it will probably go for several thousand miles before it causes any
real problems, but I was going to replace it anyway. The hardtop needs
new seals (I have never used it) That's all I can think of right now.
You can see pictures of it and some details at my web site at
home.earthlink.net/~trunnell. I am asking $5500.00 for this car, you
can add up the prices of the parts and see that I am taking a loss, but
my loss is your gain.

Thanks,
Glenn Trunnell
