Hi all,

I'm having real problems separating the front pipe from the manifold on my
MkII spit. This has the 4-2-1 manifold with a push fit connection to the front
pipe. It's rusted together solid and all the bending, twisting, heating etc I
can apply can't free it. I really need to split them as I can't get the
manifold back on the engine.

Any ideas on how to get the thing off? So far my next option is to try and
separate the next joint along (although I'll probably have the same trouble)
and take it to an exhaust specialist. The only other option I can see is to
cut the pipe, but I'm reluctant to do this as the exhaust seems to have plenty
of life left.

Cheers,

David
