Greetings, Fellow Listers;

Time for another memory refresh. What is involved in putting cam bearings in
a 1500 block? I have a decent small journal cam. Does the block need to be
machined at all? I'm assuming that the bearings press in, and that there is
some kind of oil hole in them that needs to line up with the passage in the
block. I will probably have the engine shop just do it, but I want to
understand what is going on before I go forward. TIA.

An update for those that have been following the sagas of Frankenspit and Rip
Van Spitfire. Since my search for a 1500 block has not turned up the "perfect
solution" I've decided to turn Rip into a heart donor, at least for now.
Since Rip runs, shows good oil pressure, and has no exteranious noises, my
hope is that he will prove to be an acceptable donor. I'll rebuild his engine
as needed (have to at least pin those thrust washers) before the transplant.
Perhaps Rip will become a Spit 6 at some point. We'll have to wait and see.
