I have a few "period accessory" clip-on, flip-down filters for night driving
fitted to my cars, some of them are green, some blue. I've been using these
since buying a Herald fitted with one back in 1992, having since found
several for sale at various autojumbles. They look a lot more appropriate on
an early Spitfire than the later dipping mirror or a home made device,
however effective either of these solutions might be. They're certainly not
uncommon here in the UK,
        Cheers,
                Bill.
