Hi Ben, if you have everything out and access to the slave cylinder I would
recommand DOT 5.   You should also replace the seals on both cylinders before
putting in DOT 5.  Just flush the system with some rubbing alcohol and use
compressed air to dry it out.  

I did that about 5 years ago when rebuilding the slave and replcing the 
master cylinder.  Everytime I have access to the slave cylinder I would
flush the system and the old fluid is always clear just like the new
DOT 5 fluid I replacing it with.
