If I understand you right, you want to separate the drive-shafts from the
differential?
In that case, you should remove the bolts that connect the UJ (twisty
coupling) flange to the differential output flange. You can only slide the
bolts out when they are at their lowest point in the rotation, as the
differential gets in the way otherwise!
