Hi,

Monday as I was putting my transmission back in the Spit and replacing
the front engine mounts. I made use of a set of gear wrenches -
combination wrenches with the box end being a ratchet. They are pretty
handy or nuts or bolts that you can't get a socket onto.

There I was, tightening the front engine mounts just about got it tight
when I thought I would switch to a regular box end wrench as I am not
sure they will stand up well to the torque. Anyway, I went to pull the
wrench off and couldn't. The stud on the engine mount had been pulled
through the nut far enough that there was not enough room to between the
stud and the engine block to get the wrench out. :-(

The wrenches have to be flipped over to reverse the action, so there was
no way to use the same wrench to loosen the nut. I had to get an open
end wrench and squeeze it in to loosen the nut - not much fun.

As a side note, the local paper (Lawrence, KS ) has started a garage
page. On our last club outing one of our members asked if he could
submit a short blurb about me, so he took some pictures. They ended up
running it. It is now on there web site
 http://www.lawrence.com/features/racing/garage02/brit/brit.html

There is even a short video of my wife's TR250. If she knew he was
shooting, she would have gone faster.

Thanks,

Roger Elliott
