James,
just took a peek at these......... bad....but we've repaired cars like this,
straightened the frame, the works.
Not worth it in your case,  hunt for that MK3 you want. Even though the
frame may look OK to you at first look, it may in fact not be. When door
gaps are squashed, you can suspect a chassis problem ..........I'll show the
pictures to Wilf later for an opinion.........

Maybe our friends in the UK could help you with your search for a new
Spit..... How about it all, can you help James find a nice MK3 in decent
shape.......over there??? I'm so glad you're not letting this get you
down....Something good will come out of this dilemma, I'm sure of it.
