On a stock street engine, the downdraft carburetor, complete with a nice
operating choke circuit, is vastly superior from a driveability
perspective over the performance oriented side draft Weber. In fact,
the driveability is so superior that performance can be better then what
the sidedraft can deliver.

Greetings, Fellow Listers,

What are the pros and cons of a downdraft Weber vs. a side draft
Weber?
Does one have an advantage on a stock 1500 motor? I've always liked
the
simple elegance of the side draft vs. the seemingly convoluted
downdraft
setup. Thanks for your opinions.
