Well it's killing me, but my first spit has got to go. It's a 1972 MkIV
that I bought in 1981 and drove as a daily driver (snow and rain) until
1991 when it had to come off the road due to rust. I'd hoped to restore
it someday, but reality intrudes. It ain't gonna to happen.

Plan one is to sell it to someone from the list. The asking price is a
2 liter bottle of Mt Dew, but negotiable. If I don't get a response,
I'll put it on ebay next week hoping to get $25. Failing that, the
crusher. I hope it doesn't come to that. But it has to go.

The car has approximately 150,000 miles on it. The body is fairly
straight with the exception of a dent on the driver door and the back
bumper is bent. The front bumper is missing as is the starter, clutch
master cylinder and convertible top. The usual rust suspects are all
there including some spots on the frame. The floor under the seats was
replaced with flat sheet metal welded in but the footwells are basically
wide open to the ground. There is a fair amount of bondo and
pop-riveted sheet metal on the car since I was young, poor and desperate
to keep the spit on the road at the time (now I am old, poor and too
tired to go through those type of heroics anymore.)

Other than that, the car is pretty much original and complete, although
simply worn out. The drivetrain ran fine when the car was put in
storage (garage kept the whole time), though the engine was burning a
quart of oil every 500 miles or so.

No overdrive or hardtop. The tires hold air and the car rolls, but
there are many missing lug nuts and the wheel studs aren't very good
either so I wouldn't tow it, it's going to have to be trailered. It
could be restored by someone determined enough (that would make me very
happy) or used for parts (at least it would live on to some degree).
Located outside Philadelphia PA, email with interest or questions. (digital
pictures will be available next week).

Best!

Greg
