P.O. of my car put on a belt drive cam and finned valve cover...no vent
in either.

 1275 leaked like a seive!!

Clutch is definitely weird now because of it.

I carefully opened up the valve cover cap, took out the mesh inside, 
made a slot all the way around the valve cover cap, reinstalled the wire
mesh, and no more leaks!

I still feel I need a vent for the lower crank case..but that will have
to wait.  Then I'll drill and tap the area that is used for the
mechanical fuel pump and install a vent to a catch can and filter.  I'll
probably do the same on the valve cover at that time.

Anybody have a way to create a negative cranckcase pressure without
dumping into the intake manifold?
