Hi All,

Well, it's Spring here in North Carolina, and , naturally, a man's thoughts
turns to tuning up his carburetor.

These two questions relate to a 1975 Midget and what Haynes refers to as
the "early arrangement of emission control" stuff.

Does anyone know where the vacuum line from the distributor goes to on the
ZS carb. It seems there are two possibilities:
To a thin vertical pipe coming off the "deceleration bypass valve" (P. 92
fig 3.15)
or
To a pipe under the carb, almost at the junction between the carb and
manifold.

Second question: After tracking down and fixing an air leak on the intake
manifold, the engine is now running rich (doh!) The needle has since been
lowered a full two turns, to no avail. Now it's time, apparently, to
piddle about with the "air regulator" (Fig. 3.13, # 15) otherwise known as
the "fast idle CO screw" (Fig 3.14, # 2)

It seems there are two ways to lean out the mixture with this contraption.
By unscrewing the white plastic 5/8" nut or by unscrewing the brass screw.
Is this right?

My thanks, as always, to any suggestions or comments.

Adrian MG Rules, OK!
