Hi All,
Looking forward to seeing some of you at the meet this weekend. Looks
like Puddles my frogeye will make it. Had me a little worried as this
is the most distant place that we are going to. She hasn't run in ten
years and the new rebuilt is running like a charm. In fact, People keep
coming up and asking "What size V8 I have under the hood?" They are a
little let down to hear it's just a modified baby four. Most tell me it
sounds better than their V8 at the hot rod show's we attend.
For the most dumb thing I've done lately, I have been drive Puddles to
work for a week to get some miles on her before the show. I walk out
yesterday and a very large puddle has developed under her. Quick
examination revealed radiator fluid. First thing I thought was how much
work it will be to replace the water pump two days before the show.
Well, I did it again, looking closer I found someone, namely me, left
the clamps off the bypass hose and every time it got enough pressure to
burp it did. After a few choice words and kicking myself in the back
side a few times I corrected the problem. I was wondering why I was
running 180 degrees instead of the 160 normal. I guess that will teach
me to name a car Puddles, she's just living true to her name.
