There are 2 ways to remove the old pilot (spigot) bush.
The correct way is to have a metal dowel machined to the inside bush
clearance, fill the bush with oil, drive the dowel into the bush and the
bush "jumps" up and out on the dowel. (simple hydraulics at work)
Of course if you do not have the correct dowel, or a lath to make one,
try chiseling it out. (this always works for me) just slice it with a
small chisel or old screwdriver down one side and it will come out.
