Sorry I missed your call today.
Well, the drum brakes shoes on my last bugeye and my current AN6 were the
original set installed at the factory in 1960 and 61 respectively.  Not bad I
suppose.  Course since I've owned the cars, have gone through 4 dozen pair of
sneakers.  Sorry for the wise cracks. ... I wouldn't worry about wearing them
down to the rivets.  You have a long way to go!  But if you hear squealing,
check them.  My guess, you should get a good 3 years out of them...if not
more.
