Hi, Don!
I used Plastikote  Engine Enamel (I get it in aerosol cans at my local
parts store) on my engine parts.  It doesn't need a primer and dries
quickly.   On smaller parts like the valve cover, it makes a very glossy,
durable coating if you bake it  (not to start "parts baking in wife's oven"
thread again).

Congratulations on the Bugeye!  It's good to see another one coming back
from the dead.
