LeighEllen,
This is a typical sign of a transmission on its way to gear heaven.
You will have to have it rebuilt eventually.  You could start looking for
someone to do this for you, many pwople have had bad results with
rebuilts, so find someone who comes recommended and has experience with
these transmissions. You could also install the 5speed conversion.

Keep the idiot grin, you can probably use the tranny as is for a while,
other listers may have more experience how fast this condition progresses.
