You just described my problem to a T (I forgot to mention that I too have
wire wheels). My play went away after two weeks. This is also the same car
that mysteriously _stopped_ jumping out of first and reverse. It's the
self-healing Healey. I figure if I ignore it long enough, some day it will
morph to gold concours level.
