Simon Pages intercooled Turbocharged A series was probably the fastest all
time A series Frogeye (Bugeye). Sadly the car was so quick it rapidly became
unpopular, especially with the big Healey racers in the UK and turbocharging
in this class of racing was banned. It had in excess of 150bhp at the wheels
(exact number still a closely guarded secret) on a rolling road in the UK.
The car had some wheelspin on the rollers in 4th and 5th gear requiring 3
passengers to apply downward force in the car (1) and 1 sitting on each rear
fender. On a british race track with a relatively short straight it did over
135mph.
