Two thoughts:

1) I have heard the a-arm bushing bolts should not be fully
   tightened until the suspension to loaded(car sitting level
   on the ground). This put the bushing at about its midpoint
   of travel(pivots up when it hits a bump/pivots down when it
   hits a hole.

2) when jacking under one a-arm, the further out(away from the
   bushing-when the wheel is off), the longer your lever, the
   more the spring will compress
