A while ago I posted on the list that I had some nice Alloy wheels off a
Honda Accord that I wanted to put on my Midget. Well I tracked down a
machine shop in my area that makes spacers for some of the local race
teams(NASCAR) and he says that this can be done. The spacer would take
on the shape of a hat section, and would prevent the wheels from
slipping during hard cornering. This would prevent any shear forces on
the lug nuts and also reduce the event of cracking the wheels
themselves.

Here is the bottom line though. If made in a small quantity, less than
twenty, they would cost $90 apiece. However if I was to order 60 or more
the price would come down to $75 each. I don't think spending this kind
of money is necessary for those of you who use their car as a daily
driver or for weekend cruises. But I think this might be of interest to
those who Auto-X and drive agressively. This would also allow us to use
any wheels made for Hondas,VW's,Toyotas,Hyundai's, or any other wheel
with a 100mm bolt pattern. Is anyone else interested, I am going to make
up two sets for myself, but if anyone else was interested, I could email
them the diagrams of the part and would get more sets made up if there
was interest.
