Hi Frank ,
I'm worried about all the trouble your having setting up the 1.75 SU . I am
planning to use a 1.75 on my car because I live at 8,000 ft and will
routinely drive at altitudes between 5,000 and 10,000 ft . You did not
mention ever checking the spring rate that controls the variable venturi /
carb throat / piston / (or whatever its called ).
I've read that different spring rates are available . I believe that the
piston is supposed to be fully opened at full throttle / full load . If it
opens too soon , or not all of the way, you will have problems . Also you do
not mention anything about your fuel pump . I think that the fuel pressure
requirements are different between a Weber and an SU . Let us know how
things work out .
P.S. If you end up giving up on the SU let me know . I would be willing to
buy it from you and give it a try .
Good Luck ,
                 Mark Hanna
