David Doiron who was at Sprite Rush 98 and who has written some tech features
for Rick Moses worldwide SPRITE newsletter, has been busy working on a
Spridget parts project. He lives in Arizona and has found the standard hoses
don't last long in the heat. Because he travels to the UK a fair bit he has
worked with the leading UK supplier of silicone hoses (SAMCO) to have a set
made for the vertical flow radiator cars.
The result is a neat set of blue silicone hoses that will probably out last
the car (or at least the radiator). In the UK silicone hoses are used on
demanding performance applications such as turbo'ed road and race cars etc.
They are not the cheapest hoses to buy but quality always costs. Performance
and long life aside, if you have a car that you want to dress up (is the
right phrase?) then these hoses will look great under the bonnet.
David is planning to have them retailed in the USA and UK via MOSS, VB, Mina
Mania etc. If you want a set I can forward an e-mail to him or you could
contact the suppliers.
