1978, 1500 Midget. Blown head gasket last week. (between #3 and#4, not
leaking into either water jacket or oil ways)
Drove home 4 miles on 2 cylinders, with 2 "lazy" cylinders, firing but no
power.
Replaced gasket, torqued and then adjusted valves.
Re torqued and adjusted again after 200 miles.
Its making a distinct tapping noise when pulling in mid range revs. under
load.
Sounds metalic, but could just possibly be a very sharp "tchuff, tchuff,
tchuff" noise.
Compression tests (wet) at 185, 175, 155, 180
I have checked the valve clearances again (cold) and still they seem right.
Do I have a burnt valve on #3 ???
