I have a friend who painted the hood/bonnet of his MGB like that when he
replaced his dented one, because it was cheaper than having the body shop
mismatch his faded red paint. I do think it would be overkill on a Sprite,
but then, it's overkill on any car, isn't it? That doesn't mean I wouldn't
recommend doing it anyway.
Yes it was an E-type.
