Yes it will work but DO NOT REVERSE THE WIRES!!!!
Reversing the wires will send power to the sending unit and fry it.
(been there, done that)
The sending unit is a variable ground (exact termination by electrical
gurus on this list) The gauge works by running the hot (any hot, pos or
neg) to the "B" (battery) terminal on the gauge, The "T" terminal is for
the tank.
If you flip the wires on the gauge you send 12 volts to the sender which
is grounded + connected to - = smoke!
The gauge doesn't care what ground it has just make sure the terminal
marked B gets the solid green wire.
