In addition to my MG obsession, I have collected neon beer signs for some
time. Last year I saw a news item on the MG Enthusiast website that combined
these two avocations - a gentleman in England, Ian Fitz-Simon, was having
reproductions of Fifties dealer neon signs made with Heritage Trust approval.
I corresponded with the gentleman and found he did have them with US voltage
transformers and was looking for a US distributor. I recently received an
e-mail from John Gray in California who has taken on what stocks of the signs
that are still available. The photograph he e-mailed me of the MG sign looked
impressive (as did the one published last year in a Christmas gift spread in
Sportscar & Classic). It's not cheap. But I took the plunge.

WOW!!!

It arrived yesterday. And all I can say is WOW!!!! Vey nicely made and it
looks gorgeous. The octagonal backing piece has the MG logo in red with tan
edging on a black background. Over that is the octagon and the letters in
clear red neon. 23 inches across. The whole thing is boxed over with clear
plexiglas (perspex) so no exposed tubing to have to carefully dust. It as one
of those newfangled solid state transformers so its way lighter than the old
beer signs I'm used to.

All standard disclaimers and weasel words apply. I hold no interest in Mr.
Gray's business other than having bought a sign which I am totally blown away
with how cool it is.
