One area of difference I saw between the post that Keven sent and the 
treatise on electrolytic rust removal in this link:  <A

Tool Restoration</A>  was that Kevin's Q & A said you MUST use Washing Soda, 
that Baking Soda would not do, and the link information says you may use 
either.  Guess you would just have to try them both in small batches with 
test pieces of metal to find out.  The treatise DOES say Washing Soda is 
best, but it says you can use either one.
