Actually Jay has a pretty good point. All of these posts hang around a lot
longer than most people realize. They are all searchable by anyone including
those who have less scruples than most. Spammers and scam artists are very
unlikely to search through Healey publications that exist only in print and
reach just a small targeted segment of society. On the other hand the net is
one of the first places they are going to look because it is so easily
searched and yields the most information with the smallest investment of
time.

I get phone calls daily from people trying to sell me stuff because my phone
number was included in my registration of my web domain. Anyone who does a
whois search can find out my name address and phone number. I assumed my
billing info would be private, but nope, it's out there for the whole world
to see. That makes me very uneasy. Since this discussion list is archived
and searchable it's probably best to keep personal info to the private
emails.

Ever read "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote?

;-)

That's my .02

Robert

Jay,
I gave out the phone number that Dick had put in our publication to
advertise
the '58 he has for sale. While your privacy concern is legitimate, I don't
think
Dick would have put this number in the national publications that have run
it for
the last year if privacy were his top priority with that particular number.
I have
no idea if the number I sent was a personal home number or his work number.
All I
know is he has advertised this number "internationally" through Healey club
publications for over a year now.
