I have heard of a Subaru switch that almost fits. You sort of force it
in, it has plastic metric threads which are close to the 3/8 x 24 on the
paedal box.
I do not know what year subaru it's from only that a buddy of mine put
one on his MGB because of the same reason.
I will not comment on where you get your parts but you should know
better.
