The fix for this is for the users to upgrade their browsers to a more
current version. I believe this is mostly a factor for people using older
versions of the Netscape browser.

Subject: Integrity of secure site

Hi Everyone,
I received an e-mail to-day from someone who was interested in supporting
our 'Around the World in 80 Days ' attempt, however they received a warning
when trying to join that our the encryption certificate had expired. I have
checked this out with our secure line and this is not the case. Everything
is in order.

Then I saw in the paper to-day that this has happened to 1 in 20 web users
who have tried to shop on-line.recently. Apparently Versign, which certifies
a web browsers encryption scheme works, set its guarantee to end Dec 31st
1999. just as a credit card expires after a few years, but the encryption
technology remains sound.

If anyone was put off by this on entering our web-site
www.aroundtheworld.scotland.net
please try again.

Yours in speed
Ann Hunt
