Glen,

I went through this myself, so I can sympathize. I had three different seals to 
try, and each of them had a different thickness for the 'T'. One was so thick, 
that I ended up taking a razor blade, and shaving it down so that it would fit 
in the groove. I used a lot of soap and water, and it still took me over an 
hour 
to work the damn thing into place.

BTW - Installing a new glass to frame gasket is just as fun;-)
